Background ～Great Compassion；may all beings be free from suffering
In 2014, the temple which Senge Tenzin (A Li) Rinpoche had compassionately sponsored to build for the benefit of the devotees in a village, Kakgkot ( at the mountains of Dolpo, Nepal) was newly completed and the villagers had invited Rinpoche to perform the consecration ceremony to bless the temple. So Rinpoche went to Nepal in the month of August.
At that time, Tenzin Norgey elementary school was at the brim of closing down as the government funded school was having difficulties in receiving the much needed funds for the school’s basic operations and the employment of teachers. Thus, the children of the village would be deprived of an education. Once again the villagers turned towards the father-like compassionate Rinpoche and requested for his helping hand to solve their predicament.
Rinpoche’s unwavering motivation is that; “may all sentient beings be free from suffering and may they have peace and happiness “. And Rinpoche also have extremely high regards to the education of young children because being educated has more life’s choices, and knowledge to open up their world. Therefore, without hesitation, Rinpoche acceded to their request.
On 25th April 2015, Nepal was struck with tremendous earthquakes which destroyed monuments, temples, stupas and many lives. At that time Rinpoche was in Nepal, and on seeing such suffering beings, he could not bear leaving the place but immediately gathered some local youths to form the “Senge Disaster Relief Team” and thus began the disaster relief activities.
After 6 months of non-stopping disaster relief work in the mountainous regions around Kathmandu and upon seeing the difficulties of lives in the remote villages, especially the very young ones having no opportunities to be educated because of lack of resources and for the sake of livelihood, the sick unable to seek medical care due to the remoteness, and the uncared for elderly........ thus the “Senge Foundation “ was established so as to really support these almost forgotten lives. Through the foundation , may these lonely, uncared and helpless lives find solace.
It is most wonderful to be able to give altruistically to support these activities!
We could use practical means in giving positive energy towards helping a corner of the world that are hard of living, and let the overflowing joy of giving always be in our hearts!
